Rating: 5
Summary: Great it seems.
Comment: I have read through it and it provides a great step-by-step tutorial on building a Gloucester Schooner model in a bottle. Includes other plans as well. I haven't built a ship yet, but I have bought all of the inexpensive materials that he has suggested. Most of them I already had in my home. Recommended.

Summary: Highly recommended
Comment: This book is probably the most complete guide for anyone desiring to build or who builds bottleships. It contains not only the know-how of building ships-in-bottles, but provides plans for many models to build; tools to use; how to mount your model; nautical terminology; how to photograph a model; a list of the known bottleship Associations throughout the world and three pages listing the names of books in seven different languages on the subject of bottled ships and/or objects. Jack Hinkley President, Ships-In-Bottles Association of America

Summary: The perfect book for all levels of bottled ship modelers.
Comment: Don Hubbard's book is an excellent reference guide for all levels of bottled ship builders. The book includes step-by-step instructions to a specific model witch teaches the novice modeler the essential skills of the craft. For the experienced modeler, Hubbard has included sections on various mast-stepping techniques and helpful tools. Tools and materials are described in detail and many of the useful tools have directions on how to make them out of normal household items. Of particular interest to me was the section on prepairing plans from a picture of a ship, giving the builder the means to build an accurate scale model of virtually any ship. The book also includes several plans for other models of various types of boats which will surely keep even the most industrious modeler busy for quite some time. Overall a supurbly written, useful and friendly companion to any ship bottler.
