Summary: It Works!
Comment: I have read Harry and Sarah Sneider's Olympic Trainer and use one of my 2 rebounders often. I travel extensively and have a responsible and pressure job as a sign designer and trainer of sales people for the largest manufacturer of lighted signs in America. My energy and fitness level is very important to be successful. The book helped me to get off to a good start rebounding and I have called Dr. Sneider a few times in California with questions and I have ordered 2 rebounders for us from him: one for home for my wife and one for me on the road.

Rebounding is something everyone can do and the book tells how and why.

Summary: Better use of my rebounder, I can ski better
Comment: Having competed in wrestling in high school, and swimming in college, I have tried to stay fit, even though I now qualify for AARP membership. I discovered the use of rebounding for cardio warm-ups several years ago, and found my hips, legs, ankles and feet were the better for it. Dr. Sneider's book, added to my understanding and practice in several ways. First, he cites several journals and authorities on what I felt to be true, but could not objectively prove to my friends. For example: "...the G-force (gravity) was almost the same at all these points (ankle, back, forehead ) ..." ( page 131 ) In addition, I had attempted to add hand weights while rebounding, but found that coordination and balance issues were a problem, until I saw the "SanBag's" in Dr. Sneider's book. These little cloth bags filled with sand add resistance without threat of injury. Finally, I had done most of the dozen recommended exercises on my own, but the sport-related pages have helped me. Specifically, the pages on skiing gave me great flexibility, good muscle tone, endurance so that once again I could enjoy a variety of terrain when downhill skiing. So, speaking as an early baby boomer, this book has allowed me to up the ante in my exercise program, while avoiding the major "Ouch's".

Summary: Boring and Outdated. A Waste Of Money!
Comment: As a certified Personal Trainer, I bought this book with the understanding that I was buying something that was truly "new and revised" for the 21st century. Boy was I wrong!

Briefly, don't buy this book if you want any information regarding resistive and/or urban rebounding. This is a book that was revised in 1981 and has about as much information for someone who is serious about fitness as a kid in a phys-ed trampoline class. It just doesn't work. To further illustrate this point, they even have a section on cheerleading and "how" to make jumps (which is misinformed and incorrect by today's standards). Boring and outdated to say the least. As if the reader wasn't already searching for some substance, the authors (Harry and Sarah) have pictures of their grandson holding his diploma (for what I don't know). Just to take up space, I guess.

This book isn't worth the effort or money for the beginner or casual reader. Look elsewhere for new and revised information in the field of rebounding. As a side note, don't pay attention to the editor's review. He must have been a paid relative.
