Summary: Superb (don't be put off by the title)
Comment: Superb! I am the mother of two teenagers and also a professional working with children and teenagers - this book was worth every cent and every second I spent reading it.
I found it very helpful personally, I am already reaping the benefits in my family...
It will also go on my short list of book recommendations for parents of troubled teens.
It is transforming, empowering - and reassuring. Just add a caring parent (even if confused, angry, ineffective - as we all are from time to time).

Just one burning issue - I hate the title which may be fine for parents but is insensitive to teens. I discarded the dust jacket, so all my recently raging teen would see was an innocuous grey cloth binding, as I read the book. Please retool the title for future editions which will surely follow.
And thank you Michael Bradley !!!

Summary: Eric's Review
Comment: This book offers much insight into the teenage mind. Being an average teenager myself, reading this book really helped me understand, well, Me! I was astonished by the wisdom offered by Dr. Bradley. I will warn that this book is for parenting but can be used as a guide for the MATURE teen too. This is a well organized guide to becoming a more educated parent for your teenager! Dr. Bradley helps us see that the parents and the teenagers, are all fighting the same battle, those dreadful Teenage Years. I highly recommend this book. "Yes Your Teen is Crazy" expands and updates one's mind in the scary realm known as the teenager. Buy this book!

Summary: It works! Great book!
Comment: As others have said, this is a great book. Not only is it helpful, it's an easy, entertaining read. Dr. Bradley is hilarious. I contrast this book with the only other teen-help book that I have read; that book, while interesting and high on kid psychology and biology, but left me, the parent, clueless about how to make the problems better. This book is totally different. While the title implies this is all about your teen and teen psychology, that really is only part of it. Mostly this book is about you - the parent. It's about working on your self-esteem and changing your behavior. And, quite frankly, that's probably why it works -- because you are in control of the changes. Just starting into the book I loved it and by the time I finished the book I understood it. The techniques suggested in the book are clear, simple, and very natural. They never seem phony; my son hasn't a clue that I've read a book on the subject. I started implementing the techniques even before I finished the book and saw an immediate improvement in my relationship with my son. After about 2 weeks I actually had a laugh with him! For us that was a pretty big thing. A month after reading the book I used Dr. Bradley's negotiation steps. That was kind of scary because that isn't a very natural thing. But, I guess my son wanted to negotiate badly enough that he was willing to sit down and talk. Using the negotiating steps outlined in the book, my son immediately saw and verbalized my concerns; he brought these up without me even mentioning them! We tried various alternative solutions and it took us a couple of hours to reach an acceptable conclusion. But you know, in the end, it was quite an experience and I think we both felt better about the decision. Anyway, the book helps you focus on getting over your feelings, developing your self-confidence, changing your behavior, looking at the big picture, and helping your teen become a wonderful happy person.
