Summary: Good but frustrating
Comment: Provides a good overview of design techniques. Good descriptions of how slabs behave and how this relates to design. Chart use for design is presented in a nice step by step manner.

The hand calculation examples are very difficult to read...some numbers seem to pop up from nowhere or have difficult to follow reference paths. Some equations are presented without any description of the variables. The reader is left to use these equations with blind faith and little understanding.

It is evident that the authors made an honest attempt to lay out the design process in an easy to understand format. They succeeded in some areas and failed in others.
