Summary: For beginning figure sculptors, Carlson's book is fantastic.
Comment: Maureen Carlson has put together a very easy to read book that will help any beginning level sculptor learn the materials and techniques necessary to make wonderful figurines. She moves from the simple and "cute" to figures with more personality and emotion. This book will give you a step by step guide to recreate figures featured, and thereby provide you with the skills to go on and create from your own imagination.

Comment: Unfortunately I couldn't get MY little clay face to be so expressive, but the book is a delight to read and look at. In addition to the figures, a good number of basic techniques are presented. I found the instructions and photographs quite clear.

Summary: A wonderful book
Comment: This book had me out buying clay and a pasta roller. If you follow the instructions you will amaze yourself at what you can produce. The little figures are wonderful and I've gotten good at detailing the little faces with lots of personality. Maureen should be commended.
