Summary: He was a frisbee kind of guy.
Comment: I not only read Frisbee by the Masters when it first came out many years ago, but I know first hand how involved author Charles Tips was with making this book the most informative and knowledgeable book ever written on the subject. In the 1970's, he was into frisbee for the sheer love of the game. He and his book brought countless fans into the sport. The drawings and the sheer volume of information he included helped- and continue to help- frisbee lovers become frisbee masters! I would love to see a new Frisbee by the Masters book in order to excite frisbee players in future generations. I won't ask for the second book to be dedicated to me again! Mr. Tips needs to dedicate it to himself because he was a true frisbee master who inspired frisbee love to an entire generation.

Summary: The best book on frisbee sports ever published
Comment: I have just read John Kranick's review of the book and must add that apart from being a well-written and well-illustrated guide to frisbee sports for beginners this book is also the ultimate reference for top level players.

If I could award six stars I wouldn't hesitate.

Please reprint this book (I'll buy ten!).

Summary: Most detailed/accurate explaination of how a frisbee flies.
Comment: Hello, I find it strange I am writting this review. The reason is because its been 21 years since I first read it and up until 2 days ago I had not played frisbee in 3 years.I'm 40 now . I originally read the book while stationed in the Air Force in Austin, Texas. It was big on the local college campus at the time and a small group 6 or so of us decided to give it a try and learn it on our own. After a few days we decided it was a little harder to get the frisbee to go where we wanted it to go than we thought. Exspecially since the wind never stopped blowing in Austin.

Interest among our group was declining when I decided to do a little research on the subject. Thats when I came accross Charles Tips book , Frisbee by the Masters at a local book store. It was a God sent.I read it cover to cover and presented it to the group. Although doubtful they agree to give it a try. Within 4 hours all 6 of us could throw 1 style accurate to 20-50 feet. We were hooked. Within a month we were all throwing 2-6 styles accurate 50 -100 feet.We were even using both hands.

The secret was in the simple chart in the book that showed the bodies position in relation to the angle in degrees at which the frisbee was released. This one page compined with the tips from the Masters brought it all together for all of us.

Although I lost my copy ( never returned by a friend) years ago , I never forgot the title of the book. I always intended to buy another copy.Playing 2 days ago is what brought me to Amazon.com and to this review. I hope the publisher decides to put it back in print.

If your new to Frisbee,or been around and want to learn how to throw 8-10 different styles accurately this is the only book you will ever need. This book really is by the MASTERS.

By the way I can still throw 6 styles pretty accurate.

John Kranick
