Summary: A trail-ready, useful guide
Comment: Mr. Satterfield's guide to the Chilkoot has the ring of authenticity: a reader is convinced that he has been over every inch of the trail. It is well-written and thorough, and offers the right blend of historical minutia (though not so detailed as Pierre Berton's writing) and practical hiking advice. My own copy is well-worn from many Chilkoot miles.
