Summary: Best book on the subject
Comment: It always amazes me that the best magickal books go out of print while truly worthless junk stays on the market. If you are interested in sigil magick this is the best source on the subject. Most books by prominent chaos magickians are not clear or leave much to be desired (an exception would be Phil Hines' excellent books) but Frater U D cuts straight to the point. He explains pictorial and mantric forms of sigil magick with clear examples of each type. This is a system of magick in which you already have everything you need- plain, simple, and very effective. I can personally testify that this form of magick has worked for me on numerous occasions. Austin Osman Spare developed this system but his writings are extremely difficult to understand and decipher- I would highly recommend reading all of his writings but to say he has an obscure writing style is an understatement. One of the more interesting chapters in the book is working with atavisms in sigil magick. This is a branch of magickal study which can give the intrepid psychonaut years of exploration. Frater U D also gives an illuminating discourse on how magick works from several metaphysical perspectives. I can only hope this book will come back in print for those magickians who want an effective and personal form of practical magick.

Summary: Theory And Practice Of Sigil Magic
Comment: If you're new to the subject Practical Sigil Magic is a good place to start. If you already know how to do sigil magic you'll probably find this book redundant. On second thought, you might find a few ideas here that you never thought of before (this author has a habit of doing that). Good, clear information. The book should have been called Sigil Magic for Dummies.
