Summary: DMKraig is the Scott Cunningham of High Magick!
Comment: Kraig is a well written author and this book speaks volumes about his teaching ability! He understands the subject so well he does not have to resort to technobable and instead speaks about High Magick in plain english. I have recommended this book to every magickal practioner I know. Even those who did not know they were going to be magicians. If you want MAGICKAL POWER the excersises in this book will lead you to it...it is up to you to follow through and do them. This I know from experience. Kraig has a balanced perspective on magick, which seems to be a rarity these days. This is a system that works. I was not an exceptionally experienced student when I found this book, but I am now...because of what Kraig taught me. I have not used all that is contained within these pages, but it is worth your while to take the time to read some of these things just for the knowledge. I have been able to tell numbers of people how to get rid of pesky spirits from their ! home, through use of this book. Thank you DMK for writing such a simple and practical book.

Summary: A good start
Comment: Yes, this book may oversimplify a bit, but Crowley and Regardie are hard reads to someone with no Magickal background. This book will get you started with good basic simple info on the main subjects you need to know, and has an excellent bibliography to keep you going. This is the "1st grade primer" for aspiring magicians- if you have any prior knowledge, an unnecessary book, but if looking for a 1st book for your occult library, buy and read before spending money on the "classics" because you probably wont understand them yet anyway. Also, for Pagans and Wiccans, a good view of a slightly different path. In other words, buy this FIRST, then dive into "Magick in Theory and Practice" or "The Golden Dawn", it will make them much easier to grasp. Will also make those cool Grimoires you bought like the Keys of Solomon usable.

Summary: The very beginning...
Comment: I have highly enjoyed Kraig's book. It has several error's but nothing too serious. The "how-to" discriptions of the rituals are the best I have seen. Although he fades off when it comes time to discuss the purpose or depth of these rituals. If you know anything about the occult or magick then you never should get this book. BUT, if you are an absolute beginner and know nothing, then this is one of the best books for you to get your feet wet. If for no other reason, I give this book five stars for starting many people on the path of wisdom.
