Comment: Swept into Nantucket's paths, dunes, and marshes by this precious book, I have given "Familiar Paths" to 10 friends. Each has written or called, telling me how moved he or she is by Rebecca Parkinson's tales. Each has said, "I can't put it down," "The writing is beautiful," "I feel as though I'm walking with her," "I want to savor each chapter," or a similarly moving reply.

Personally, I have read "Familiar Paths" over three times and continue to draw from its inspiration and joy.

The author lives the details and beauty of the island!

Comment: Familiar Paths is a Must Read if you are a nature lover like I am and need your soul to be restored by the quite waters. Even if you have never been to Nantucket this is a book to be savored. I have enjoyed using this book as devotional in the morning or finding a quiet place to chew and digest each spiritual nugget of truth. Rebecca has challenged me to see God's hand in the simple collection of nature, right outside my own window and to observe His creation around me and listen for His still small voice. Some of my favorite chapters are Pink Sea Crab and Beach Travelers. You will love reading this book again and again....it is a great book to give as a gift to yourself or to those you love....
