Comment: Ciro Alegria is considered one of the best writers in South America and he proved it with this book. This book has to be one of the best I have ever read. The story about a little indian "pueblo" in Peru and the troubles they go through to keep their land from greedy rich people and a corrupted government lets you understand what goes on in the isolated areas of this Andean nation. The story is great, Alegria takes you through the lives of each member of the community and allows you to understand better what this country and its people have encountered ever since the Conquistadoroes set foot on this fertile land.
