Summary: One of the First Books I've Ever Read. Great Adventure
Comment: Island at the Top of the World was one of the first books I read as a kid, and it really captured my imagination. A great adventure story with an airship that goes to the Arctic in search of ambergris, the stuff in sperm whales they use in perfume. The subplot has a guy searching for his long lost brother if I recall right. Anyway it's great for kids and someday I hope to see the Disney film.

Comment: If you like Jules Verne, Ian Fleming, or even Clive Cussler, you should like this novel. It made for fast reading in an adventurous way.

Although I have not seen the movie, the novel was descriptive enough that I feel I almost did.

Light hearted pre-techno-thriller reading.
