Summary: An inspiring account of a woman's walk with Christ
Comment: Lisa Beamer's interview with a teaching pastor in Chicago was the focus of my church's Sept.11th memorial service. As I listened to the tape and heard her tell of her life before, with and after Todd I knew I had to read her book. Lisa has been appointed, by God, through the events in her life, to a ministry of sorts. Her courage, grace and, most of all, her faith, are an example to all of us. Her story demonstrates how any of us, at any time can have our world rocked by tragedy. There is peace and comfort to be gained by knowing that God is in charge and that whatever happens is part of His greater plan. We may not always like or understand what happens but we must trust and accept. As a Christian she feels compelled to tell her story in hopes of helping others who may suffer as she has. Anyone who thinks that she is in this for the glory or the money just doesn't get it! I am a Christian but I believe that even those who are not will benefit from reading this book. It is at times enjoyable, at times sad, at times heartwarming but at all times inspiring.

Summary: A Brave and Powerful Testimony
Comment: Only handful of times have I read a book that has made a profound difference in my life--Let's Roll by Lisa Beamer is one of those books. I started it at 10:30 in the evening and didn't put it down until 3 a.m.! Usually I'm out cold after two pages!
In the pages of the book, Lisa shares her faith and life so intimately and fully that you can't help but identify with her and her family and what they've endured. It's a remarkable testimonial of a real and practical faith in the strength, power, comfort, and ultimately the salvation of Jesus Christ! I think if you're a non-believer this book may make you one, and if you are a believer it can strength your faith immensely.
Lisa and those involved in publishing the book have taken a situation so horribly evil and bereft of God and used it as a way to honor Him and display His grace! That's a miracle! I felt personally honored that Lisa and her family would shared their tragedy, their faith, and their example with the rest of us!
To stay I strongly recommend this book would be an understatement. Please borrow or buy a copy and read it--even if you think you just don't have the time! It's a quick read, and it will change you!!!

Summary: More than a hero, more than a casualty of September 11...
Comment: Todd Beamer was more than just a voice heard 'round the world from United Flight 93. But you will never understand this unless you read "Let's Roll". If you appreciate friendship, especially lifelong friendships, if you understand goodness and kindness and love of family, and if you admire people who have the courage to do what is right, regardless of the outcome, then you owe it to yourself to read this book. I originally bought the book out of "obligation". I felt like all I knew about Todd Beamer was those famous words and that his wife and family were suffering what all those other families were suffering, after being "left behind". But this books is SO MUCH MORE. Do yourself a favor and buy it, borrow it, but please don't steal it! It is the best investment you will ever make and who knows, maybe it will even change a heart or two. I don't think of it as a book about Lisa Beamer and her loss. Rather, I see it as a story of an American loss, loss of someone who had already made a huge difference in the lives of so many and could have achieved so much more, given the time. But most of all, I grew to love the man and his family and his friends and mourn their loss, nearly a year later, in ways that I would have never known, had I not been priviledged to stumble upon this book on the way to buy a birthday card.
