Summary: Great Help
Comment: It is very helpful if you have kids. I have a 7 year old girl who is having trouble understanding why the terrorists did what they did (so do I). In disagreement with the Masked Intolerance reviewier, the truth is worse than what the book states. Not only does "the God the terrorists follow...not love his people but demands that they obey him and follow the teachings of Islam...", those teachings include:(Qur'an 9:29)"Wage war on the people of the Book (Jews and Christians), who ... do not accept the religion of Islam."(Qur'an 9:14) "Fight against them (the Jews and Christians)! Allah shall punish them, at your hands." "Wage war for the sake of Allah. Kill whoever denies Him." (Muhammad quoted on P52 SA Qureshi, Selected Writings of Hasan al Banna Shaheed)(Qur'an 8:39 & 2:193)"Make war on them until idolatry does not exist any longer and Allah's religion reigns universally."(Qur'an 9:5)"Kill the unbelievers wherever ye find them, capture and besiege them and prepare for them every kind of ambush." The previous reviewer asks "Is that really want you want to teach your child?" No. But it is what it is. Let's not teach tolerance and deny reality simply because it makes us feel good.

Summary: Masked intolerance
Comment: I respect the rights of parents to explain these issues to their children within the context of their own beliefs, but this book crosses the line, in my opinion. When dealing with the question "Why do terrorists say that God is telling them to attack people" (page 111), the answer includes the opinion that "the God the terrorists follow is a very distant, unloving God who does not love his people but demands that they obey him and follow the teachings of Islam..." Is that really want you want to teach your child? Pick and choose carefully from this book, if you must, but avoid swallowing it whole.
