Summary: Good book
Comment: I've just finished "Hidden In Time" and I enjoyed it. I'm an avid follower of documentaries and other news stories on the search for the Ark of the Covenant and Noah's Ark, as well as other archaeological news, especially pertaining to the Bible. (He also has some characters from the Oak Ridge and Knoxville, TN area -- where I'm located.)
Phillips paints likeable characters. The archaeology aspect of the book holds true to much of what is being discussed about where certain items may be.
Phillips also made a few simple truths understandable for me.
My gripes -- at times the book's key scenes are anti-climatic. I would have liked a good vs. evil fight in the end. And, also it was difficult to keep up with the Knights of the Templars aspect of the book, since it was spread over the course of the whole book. Having that story told all at once would have been good.

Summary: Prepare to give up sleep for a while...
Comment: The story of two arks and their impact on the world. This book picks up where Michael Phillips' first book, "A Rift In Time", left off. Adam Livingstone and his team are back to recover Noah's Ark while persuing information on the history of the Ark of the Covenant. Imagine the impact on the world of the discovery of the two arks. Great read! Be prepared not to sleep for a while...this book is a page turner!

Summary: strong "Left Behind" like tale
Comment: Many people would rest on their laurels after making two incredible discoveries that substantiate much of the Old Testament, but not archeologist Adam Livingstone. Though acclaimed as the top in his field after locating Noah's Ark and pinpointing the Garden of Eden (see RIFT IN TIME), Adam has changed from an apathetic agnostic into a true believer. He feels he needs to prove that God's words are real. So he and his team are in Aksum, Ethiopia seeking proof that the Ark of the Covenant exists in the St. Mary's of Zion Cathedral's Sanctuary, but the endeavor fails.
The powerful Council of Twelve believes e opposite. They are concerned about Adam's recent discoveries and watch his every move in Ethiopia for obviously the Ark was allegedly kept there. Though within the twelve there is a major rift, the prime commandment remains stopping Adam from further proving that God exists. They plan to do more than just take pictures of the Ark.
This exciting sequel is loaded with action and strong characters. It also contains a powerfully interwoven message that God wants his children to come home. The story line is fast-paced never missing a beat as the countdown to the end times start. Adam and his crew are a delightful group who begins to realize that he is a modern day prophet though the villains (except one) seem a bit inane in their petty posturing when an eternal "kingdom" seems at stake. Still the Left Behind crowd and fans of apocalyptic tales will want to read this novel, its predecessor, and other works by Michael Phillips.
