Comment: This absolutely delightful book is beautifully illustrated. Mrs. Twiggenbotham is a grand motherly woman who does not see very far but she sees far enough to reach people with loving concern. She shares kindness and baked goods with people who need a bit of cheer. Three of her best recipes are at the end of the book. While designed for children 4 to 8, this book is a delight for the adults with whom the children share it.

The main character, Mrs. Twiggenbotham, is a delight, along with all of the other "characters" in the book. I highly recommend this book as an A-1 choice of reading material for young children.
