Summary: August People is a pleasant read
Comment: I found myself caught up in this novel dealing with the relationships among several generations of an extended family in their summer home. In fact, I read it practically straight through; it is like a high-brow soap opera. My opinion may be colored, however, by the fact that I grew up on Martha's Vineyard (an Islander, not a summer person) and was fascinated by the depiction of the milieu.
