Summary: Good Intro plus solid, basic dog suggestions
Comment: This is not as thorough a guide on the specific breed, neither to the one really looking at getting into showing, breeding, etc.

However, we found it a great little book to start with, and I think many others contemplating or getting a sheltie (we got two) will find this to be a valuable little resource.

Summary: This is a great book
Comment: I don't have a sheltie, but I'm planning on getting one. I have 3 books about this breed, and this one is the best. It's written really well, and easy to understand. The author of this book tells a lot about this breed and where it came from. It tells how to groom your dog, train it, feed it, what kinds of toys and other important things are the best quality, and a lot more. This book also, tells you everything you want to know before buying a sheltie. A lot of people ask themselfs questions like, "Should I buy a female or a male?", or "Should I buy a puppy or an adult?", well this book will help you answering these questions for sure. I think this book is really worth the money it costs, that's why I gave it 5 stars.

Comment: I bought this book along with another (A Happy Healthy Pet Shetland Sheepdog) and found the latter to be much more Sheltie focused with better pictures and more breed specific information.
