Comment: Upon returning from a weeklong trip to Raleigh-Durham to visit a friend, I found myself on a plane intrigued with a man sitting diagonally from me writing in a journal. He was about 30 years of age and as he was flipping through the pages in his executive-looking notebook and I couldn't have guessed what he had been writing about. It seemed as if every day there was a new paragraph indicated by a new date, and different colored pen. At that moment I too wished I had something to write in, not only as something to do, but also almost as a commemorative reflection upon my trip or anything else I wished to note at that time. When I was younger I tried writing in a diary as they were called but it wasn't for me. The idea seemed too girlish, and everything I seemed to write I would look back upon with disgust. Writing is something I now enjoy greatly and recently in my writing I've been exploring a given question, and then pondering the philosophical meaning behind it. It's proven to be quite amusing, while also allowing me to expand upon my writing skills, let alone my penmanship, which has been progressively getting worse due to my constant use upon the computer. So, I'm purchasing this particular notebook because it was one of the very few that didn't have words printed on the cover. What manufacturing company should set the genre for my writing? I also tired to avoid Chinese lettering, and floral patterns simply because they by no means reflect my personality. So, when I stumbled upon this Wegman Blank Flying Dumbo Journal by William Wegman I thought it a wonderful reflection of me, and the work I wished to accomplish. Hopefully this will be a wonderful addition to my book collection, as this work is composed by my own thoughts and ideas.
