Summary: this is the most interesting book of its kind
Comment: I first acquired this book as a scholastic books paperback retitled demons, monsters and abodes of the dead. the flashy title did not prepare me for the reality of a book that is peaceful and beautifully in scope, content, and writing. my parents threw the book out by mistake when we were moving and I spent the past twenty years looking for a new copy. That dream was realized in 1996 in a San Francisco library, and a photostat is sadly all I have- the book ought to be reprinted forthwith and bought for every child, as it is a fantastic introduction to realms of imagination that will guide a child to new books and new adventures.
