Summary: Excellent for life application
Comment: The real strength I found in this commentary was the practical aspect of it's interpretation. I used it in conjuction with Barclay's DBS of James, and got more scholarly info from Barclay, but saw how to better apply to life (and preach) from the Holman Commentary. I think it is a practical and preachable commentary, great for Sunday School teachers. If I was a layman, this would be the series I would probably gravitate towards. Reads very well, entertaining and informative!
