Summary: Useful Periodicals Checklist
Comment: This important five-volume set still remains one of the most significant guides to Victorian periodical literature. It lists practically all of the contents, and--whever possible--it identifies the authors of unsigned articles. Unfortunately, it does not list the masses of poetry published in the pages of the influential magazines that come within its scope. It also does not list the contents of and contributors to such vital Victorian reviews as The Athenaeum.
