Summary: Better than I had hoped for
Comment: I had waited for Breathing Room with great anticipation and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was great! I closed it when I was finished and just sighed. The characters were wonderful. I feel that the secondary characters, a lot of times, can make or break a book, and Ren's ex-wife and her family were good. The whole cast of characters were people I wanted to read about, not skip over. I have read all of SEP books and I would have to rank this one at the top. I especially enjoyed Isabel's moral character. I love romance novels, but as a Christian, a lot of times I am a little disappointed in the morality in some books. Not in this one. I, unlike some other reviewers, appreciated the fact that Isabel prayed. At least she acknowledged a higher power. In a lot of books that is never even mentioned. Most of the reviewers liked this book (except one, and I don't know what book she read!!) and they liked Isabel and Ren. Well, her praying was what made her the kind of person she was. So, for a great book, pick this one up. You're guaranteed to like it.

Summary: Its Like Eating Chocolate!
Comment: It's orgasmic, addictive, and just makes you want more when you're finished. I bought the book the day it came out and let it sit on my shelf for a week. I couldn't bring myself to read it because I knew I'd finish it in one reading and then I'd be craving more. Each one of SEP's books is interesting and written pretty well, but her last two hardcovers..."This Heart of Mine" and "The Breathing Room" are her best work. "The Breathing Room" isn't a conventional romance, it's a novel that comes alive and wraps itself around your heart. SEP sinks her hands into the depths of the human soul and truly captures every emotion in words that come together like poetry.
Both Ren and Isabel are well-developed, a truly complimentary couple. I love the fact that all of SEP's novels feature characters that are almost polar opposites, usually very stubborn, independent and righteous. Even the sub-plot between Ren's ex-wife and her husband is fully developed and thoroughly enjoyable. I'm the kind of reader that usually flips through sub-plot scenes but you can't really pull this one away from the rest of the story. It fits in there perfectly and without it the book really couldn't be whole.
You won't regret buying this one, don't wait for the paperback! Buy it. You'll probably be reading it more than once.

Summary: Enjoyable
Comment: This is the first time I have read a 368 page book in less than a week! This book really kept my interest...and believe me, that's hard to do. Very enjoyable story.
