Summary: Van Gogh's World of Color
Comment: My daughter loved looking at the pictures in this book, and asked for it every night for weeks. At one, the text was too advanced for her, but we would talk about the pictures--object names, colors, and other things she could relate to. I think when she's a little older, she'll still enjoy the pictures, but will also be able to appreciate the text. From my perspective, a "baby book" that lasts beyond babyhood is pretty rare. Her Baby Einstein books are among the few of her "baby board" books that we are keeping so she can enjoy them again when she's older.

Comment: Personally I love this book. I am a huge Van Gogh fan so this book is perfect for me, however, it is supposed to be made for my son. He is not old enough to enjoy it yet, but I am not sure if he ever will

Summary: Great alternative to standard baby books!
Comment: As a die-hard Van Gogh fan, I was thrilled when I found this book. I was concerned that my 6-month old wouldn't be interested, but she loved it! The tabs make it easy for her to turn the pages herself, and the bright colors attract her attention. Now, at 11 months, she focuses enough that I can read the colors to her and point out objects in the pictures. It is a wonderful alternative to standard, cartoony baby books. I wish they made similar books for other famous artists! (How about Picasso? Monet? Georgia O'Keefe?)
Unlike the reviewers who complained that the book is just like the video, I have focused on books rather than television. My daughter loves this book, and I'm sure she will someday be thrilled the first time she is able to recognize a painting as Van Gogh.
