Comment: When the heroine, Isabel Garcia, innocently unearths her ex-husband's stash of cocaine, she calls the police. She is not prepared for her intense attraction to the sexy lieutenant, nor his subsequent interest in dating her. Citing his dangerous job and the effect it might have on her little daughter if she got close to him, Isabel shuns his advances. Yet despite a series of conflicts, some involving his ruthless tracking of a drug ring and her trying to save her tropical fruit tree nursery, Linc continues to woo Isabel with charm and sensual persuasion.

From the moment she meets Linc, Isabel's little daughter Suzie wants her mom to marry him. The precocious five year old's role as matchmaker provides many endearing scenes. This story has appealing and warm characters. The tropical setting of Miami and the addition of a suspenseful storyline, along with lively Cuban customs make it a real page turner. Linc and Isabel's growing relationship is steamy, but with just the right amount of tenderness to make it very romantic.

Comment: Isabel Garcia makes a disturbing discovery in her yard. Her ex-husband had buried a suitcase full of cocaine in the yard before he died. Isabel calls the officer she had dealt with previously to share this discovery. Linc Heller longs to see Isabel again and wants to get involved with her. After saving her from sexual assault, he starts his campaign. But she is afraid to get involved with a man in such a dangerous line of work, both for herself and for her adorable daughter, Susie. She fights and resists and gives ultimatums. And Linc has his own demons to work through.... The exotic setting, of Isabel's tropical fruit tree groves, as well as the details of tropical fruit growing and police narcotics work make for fascinating reading, as the characters struggle to grow and change.
