Summary: This is the Secret to Golf
Comment: I am a 3 handicap and this book is the real deal.
As a long time student of Tai Chi, I have leanred that any true strong movement comes from your center (or Dan tien). Althletes that make their strong fluid movements look effortless have mastered this concept. Golf is the exact same way. If your arms are tired, back strained or hands hurt after playing, you are doing something very wrong.
This book is the best I have found that explaines how simple a real golf swing is. Use your center, shift your weight and let you arms, hands and club go along for the ride. This will produce the most solid consistent swing. It is truly that simple. The problem is we try and add to much.
People who diagree dont understand physics.
This book is an excelent introduction into the realities of the golf swing.
That said it is a little "fluffy" and long winded but I challange someone to find a better, more simple way of explaining the secrect to great golf.

Summary: It works!
Comment: This golf swing theory is very much the same as Jim Dent's 'Long and Strong' video. Forget the hands and arms and move the weight back and thru and let the swing happen. I did not believe this would work because it felt so easy and had no power but the opposite is true. I added 20 yards to my drives and now hit a 8 iron an easy 155 yards! No effort at all. The slower I swing the further the ball goes! My average drive was 220-225 , now 255-265 with a lazy effort. I broke 80 three times out of five and I only play once a week. YES...buy this book and try to get Jim Dent's video also.

Summary: Interesting read
Comment: As a golf instructor I don't believe anyone could use this book to improve their golf very much. It can, however, clear up and eliminate too many thoughts. George repeats himself many times and deals mainly with the feelings he had while playing and working on his swing. Any good instructor will tell you, what you feel you are doing and what you are actuallly doing are often two entirely different things.
I was interested in this book because George was a student of Jimmy Ballard's (see How To Perfect Your Swing). It is an interesting read to see how he translates many of Jimmy's ideas into his own book.
George goes against some of my swing beliefs and therefore Jimmy Ballard's even though he was Jimmy's student for a long time while he was on the tour. And that is the reason I can only give three stars to a book which which may help some confused golfers.
I would like very much to be able to speak with George to clear up some questions I have for him, but tragically, George, one of the all time great ball strikers died at a young age.
If you are a Ballard fan or a Ben Hogan desciple I would recommend this book if you inquisitive to read a tour player's views on the correct technique. And like I said he may clear up your thoughts beacuse he explains things well while keeping his swing mechanics simple.
