Summary: Sondheim Out Does Himself . . . Again
Comment: A fourth book in the series, ALL SONDHEIM IV proves again how Sondheim has taken the world of musical theatre to a higher level. This book is well put together and was a very exciting and worthwhile buy for this Sondheim fanatic. These songs are much different than the songs in the previous collections. Most are from his film scores, or the more recent scores. However, with songs like "Too Many Mornings," or "There Is No Other Way," his earlier works are well represented. Perhaps even greater, there are many songs from his first (and newly revived) show, SATURDAY NIGHT. These songs seem to complete a history and show the roots of this legand. This songbook is a must have for Sondheim fans, as well as true musical theatre appreciators.
