Comment: This book might be useful for college students, but WILL NOT help you with the probation officer exam.

Summary: Not That Bad...Could Be Useful to Some
Comment: Granted, the book focuses on New York exams. Perhaps the model exams don't reflect real-world exams nationwide. (I'm in a state that doesn't even give exams.) The book does contain quite a bit of text on the history of probation, test taking techniques, writing reports, and other probation & parole topics. I found it useful in gaining an overview of probation jobs and got an idea about whether I was in the right career ballpark by running through the model tests.

Summary: Don't waste your money
Comment: Do not waste your money on this book! I ordered this piece of junk hoping that it can help me on the probation officer exam. However, instead of helping me, this book actually hurt me. The book had nothing to do with the probation officer exam. In fact, the exam was no where near the topics discussed and "emphasized" in the book. It consisted the history and overview of probation/parole. Honestly, if i wanted an overview, i would have just turned to my Criminal Justice 101 textbook (i actually don't have one, but you get the point.) This book offers no aid to real-world exams, which is what probation officer exams are based on. So save your money and time on something that's actually useful. Hope this helps.
