Summary: Refreshingly interesting
Comment: Dr. Baran has an amazing ability to draw a student reader into his text. On the surface each page looks like any other text book would. But the subject matter is refreshingly honest, and insightful. Intro to Mass Com Literacy teaches the reader that while we are all our eyes are exposed to the media every second of our lives, there is so much more happening, right underneath our nose. Intro to Mass com covers the origins of media literacy, and stretches into it's newest home, the Internet, while keeping the reader focused on topical subjects relative to America media. As far as text books go, you will look forward to reading Introduction to Mass Com 2001.
