Summary: Very good source for all the necessary exam objectives
Comment: I purchased this book because of it reviews as to necessary content. I struggled with its overly wordy format. This book will provide you with all the information and resources for effectively learning the required information and that is of course the goal. I caught myself skimming and I don't like to do that in a technical resource. I will note that I found this to be the easiest exam I have ever taken. I hope that is because I was totally prepared after using this book. Also I didn't even use the CD or end of chapter reviews but I did do every exercise. grey MCSE, CCNA, A+, CNA4, CNA5

Comment: You might argue about David's writing style, but one thing about his books is not arguable: The level of technical accuracy. I prepared for my CNA exam using this book cross-referencing it with the official Novell NetWare 5 on-line documentation, and all I can say is that this book is 99.9% accurate. I also had a chance to peek in the official Novell "white book" (training manual) for Course 560 and if I have to choose between the two, I would always go for David's book. All in all, it is a bit wordy and a bit silly at times, but it will definitely prepare you for the exam. So grab this book and some good test engine (Self Test BigRed or CNEQuizzr) and you can't fail. I should know - I passed my exam on 10/08/99!

Summary: 350 pages of useful info, 500 pages of crap
Comment: This book will prepare you for the exam, but what a waste of time reading. I was so incredibly sick of his tree-hugging "wit" I have done MCSE, Citrix CCA, Cisco CCNA, Compaq ASE courses and exams and never seen a book where an author needs to put his beliefs or humor in the book. Get to the point and get there quickly. Alright, my wife thinks I am being too negative. Do you get prepared for the test absolutely. Did I learn a lot about Netware 5 absolutely. Did I pass the test easily, yes again. I just didn't appreciate the writer's style of presenting the material. Also, why doesn't Novell give you an evaluation copy of Netware with this kit? If they want you to learn this stuff then experience is the best way. (I didn't buy a Compaq server to sit around and collect dust)!!!! Please Novell, DO NOT allow this moron to write for you. Hire a professional writer and allow Mr. Clarke to write the great American novel "My trip through Woodstock: The stories of a 60's tree hugger living in the 21st century"
