Summary: Sam's HTML in 24 hours is WAY BETTER
Comment: I've used HTML for dummies and found it was way too broad to learn anything. It is simply trying to cover too much at once. I did use SAMS HTML and XHTML in 24 Hours and found it was a lot more comprehensive. So my recommedation is... don't buy this book, go with SAMS's HTML and XHTML. I've learned HTML quickly with that book and now I am a web designer for ProCreative Designs http://www.procreative.ca.

Summary: A Practical Web Design Guide
Comment: I personally enjoyed reading this book because it's clear and easy to follow. The information in it is very practical. For example, it gives specific steps to take if one is interested in becoming a freelance web-designer. It also mentions a 5-step process with regards to dealing with clients. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in web design. This goes for those who are thinking about starting their own web design business as well as for those who are planning to work for a company. The author has a very good sense of humor which makes the book even more interesting and fun to read. I liked it so much that I couldn't put it down.

Comment: Web Design for Dummies covers an amazing array of stuff from planning and client management through to creative strategies, production, and even how to manage your own consulting business.
What I found most insightful was the way Lisa covers the entire web design workflow- showing you the entire creative process, even user testing.
This book is a must read for any designer! Thanks Lisa
