Summary: JUST COMPLETED READING BOOK AUG 28TH 2000
Comment: Just finished reading the book The book has the following advantages: Chapters are focused and preceeded by a "complete the phrase/answer section", you need to read the chapter and pencil in the ansers to the 10 questions. Then go to the multiple choice at the end of the chapter and complete those and check your score. The chapters are small enough to be finished in two hours of reading (including taking the test). So you should be able to finish in about 34 hours of work.
There also "instant answers" that highlight key points.
There is an attached CD which has got a prep test
There is a final test exam, if you can pass this with at least 90% you are well on your way.
The book is well laid out,simple to understand and assumes no prior knowledge. I have finished the book and am taking the next 3 weeks to revise and practice the questions.
The downside is that you underestimate the exam prep required, I have rescheduled my exam and set a date 3 weeks further back its easy to think after reading a few chapters that the exams going to be easy. The chapers on HTML are hard to understand and require a lot of time (at least 4 hours on the 1st one and 6 hours on the second HTML chapter ) plus be prepared to type the examples.
No other reviewer has mentioned that the exam costs $185US so I would recommed you buy another book, the additional questions are what you want. I would recommed the exam cram series, and keep doing the questions on the CD.
Finally I did not have the patience to play the included sci fi"learning game"
PS when I sit the test I will do an update.

Summary: I thought this was a good book until I took the exam.
Comment: Beware when an author incorretly reports the number of questions on the test (70, page 14 and 20), the time allowed for the exam (120 minutes, page 20) or the percentage required for a passing score (70, page 10). I found all of these statements to be wrong. While these may be insignificant issues, it does make one question the author's qualifications for writing this book. Do not believe the quote on page 23 about the actual test being easier than the practice tests. I did not take the test until I was scoring in the 90's on every practice test. The actual test was like reading a different language. I had read the book from cover-to-cover and worked through it a few more times, but was not prepared. Do not depend on this book to get you through the exam! Of course, this is just my opinion. Your experience may differ.

Summary: Be careful
Comment: I used three different books to study for the exam, and this was easily the least helpful. It was helpful in that it had information that was not in the other two books I used, but it also has some very obvious errors on many topics--information that is just simply wrong. After seeing so many mistakes, I found it hard to see the book as a credible source, and I began to wonder if there were mistakes which I hadn't caught (and which might come back to haunt me on the exam). Make sure that you have other study materials, such as the Exam Prep book.
