Summary: What would you do?
Comment: What would you do if the sister you haven't really seen in 12 years dies, and has decreed in her will that you are to be the guardian of her 5 kids? Sarah Cain has to find that out for herself. This is a marvelous book of self-discovery. Sarah has to finally decide which is more important--money or family.

A wonderful book about overcoming past tragedy and understanding what family really means.

Summary: The supporting cast was great!
Comment: I had a hard time warming up to the heroine of this story. She was very self absorbed, and I thought she lacked just normal human compassion. However, I loved all of the other characters and enjoyed the description of Amish life. Since their personalities were so strong, it carried the story when I was finding it very hard to tolerate the main character(a lot of eye rolling, and heavy sighs on my part). Eventually, Sarah became more tolerable, though I never really liked her that much. I guess it says a lot for the author that she populated her book with enough people I could empathize with, that despite the one glaring problem(Sarah), I really enjoyed the story, and would buy another by her.

Summary: I loved this book!
Comment: This was another great Beverly Lewis based on the life of the Amish. I am fascinated with the Amish. This story is about Sarah Cain whose widowed sister dies living behind 5 young children and requests Sarah as guardian to raise the children. Sarah and Ivy were not raised Amish but Ivy and her husband had joined the New-Order Amish. Sarah is a big city gal with a career and must choose between her familiar lifestyle and a much different life in Lancaster County. During this time she must work through many issues that have been troubling her for years. Reading this book is further insight into the Amish lifestyle and the children is this book are enjoyable and inspirational.
