Title: The Kid's Guidebook: Great Advice to Help Kids Cope by Tova Navarra, Tom Kerr ISBN: 0-7641-2066-2 Publisher: Barrons Educational Series Pub. Date: 15 October, 2002 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $10.95 |

Summary: Sound Advice
Comment: Plain and simple advice for children that they can digest and apply themselves. The book sets out a problem (e.g. what do you do when someone doesn't want to be your friend anymore") and seeks to answer it in a page. This is a psychology book kids can read, instead of their parents reading it and passing the advice on indirectly (so it has cred as a "non-parents' advice source", if that matters). I read parts of it to my 5 years old though some sections would be over his head. Other sections (like How to cope when someone you love dies) are for specific circumstances, but most are everyday dilemmas kids are faced with, and the advice is solid.
