Summary: Finally, a language book with clear pronunciations!
Comment: I gave "Learn Italian..." five stars not because it's absolutely the best beginner's language book I've ever seen (though it's up there), but because it is that rare find in low-priced foreign language aids that explains how to pronounce words phoenetically (eg, come = KOH-meh). This feature may seem unnecessary to some, but I learn faster reading a word correctly, and hearing myself say it correctly. I also realize this feature does not supplant listening to tapes of native Italian speakers, but I enjoy being able to look at the text and see the word broken down, and then repeatedly work on my pronunciation from there. Call me crazy.

The book is very well organized, broken up into numerous 15-minute lessons, allowing you to clearly see your progress as you work at any pace you choose. Additionally, this book provides a cool set of removable vocabulary "flash cards" in the back, organized by subject (family, travel, food), w/ Italian on one side & English on the back. I've truly enjoyed learning with this book. All in all, I feel it is a solid, entertaining tool for the beginner, and well worth the small investment.

Comment: It`s a pretty clear and informative Italian course for beginners - a good combination of basic grammar and useful vocabulary. Though it`s still better to use some audio course I would still recommend this one.
