Summary: A Good Guide for Beginners
Comment: This guide is a useful tool for those starting out in the game. Most people starting out in the game may be a little uncertain about asking questions like where a gate is to a new sector or where to go to for a mission. This has a detailed desription of the current different factions and lists of trade runs, star maps, where to go for missions, a detailed MOB list (of those that were created at the time the book was written). This even has very useful maps locating where each of the sectors that the gates will lead you to and basic information on what level you should be to be able to stand up against the MOBs in any given sector. The level information is jsut as acurate as the map that comes with the game but easier to understand.
Though a guide to an online game such as Earth and Beyond will have some inacurate information due to new game patches and will not have everything listed but it is still full of lots of accurate information. I do not believe that this book deserves the low rating that everybody is giving it.
My only complaints it does not cover devices as it does the other things you can purchase for your ship, it is rather unorginized, and there were several editorial mistakes.
Other then that, if you are just starting out this is a wonderful book to have for refrence. Keep in mind that there are a lot of new things that are not in this book and a things that have changed. What's the fun of exploring if you already know everything that is out there?!

Summary: outdated
Comment: The description and tactics of each race/class was just repeated. There is no detailed information on the individual mission beyond the basic. The list of MOBs are outdated. The description of items do not include any skills. They gave some excuse of not revealing too much information in the map section. The game has a interface that gives you all the nav points for every system. The game provides more information than the book. The reason I buy a game guide is so that I would have this type of information which it fails to deliver. There are a lot of web sites out there that do a better job of providing information for this game. If you still want to get it, I'll sell you mine. A waste of money.

Summary: Waste of a tree
Comment: This book has dozens of incomplete and incorrect lists of the items found in the game. There isn't even a list for devices!!! There are no locations given for any of the MOBS, and the star maps are useless due to their incompleteness.
This is a waste of a tree and shelf space. Don't make the mistake of buying this. There are dozens of web-sites with more complete lists and up-to-date information.
