Comment: This is a wonderful book about an amazing dog named Gracie. In my opinion it is a must read for anyone. It is a book that will make you laugh and cry. Gracie's story will show you how animals can touch our lives and how blessed we are to have them in our midst. You will not be able to put this book down! Another thing, the royalties from this book go to The Gracie Foundation which is a non-profit emergency relief fund for neglected and abused animals. By reading this book, you will not only see how Gracie changed a man's life but you will help to carry on her memory by helping animals in need. Please take my advice and buy a copy right away- I don't think you will be sorry.

Comment: Amazing Gracie is a wonderful story about a deaf, partially blind, albino Great Dane. Her story is told with humor by Dan Dye and Mark Beckloff, and whimsically illustrated by Meg Cundiff. This book, written sensitively, but without melodrama, will make you laugh, rejoice, cheer and cry. It is also the story of the beginnings of the wonderful bakery for dogs, Three Dog Bakery. Humorous parts include Gracie's first day in her new home, Dan's dress shoes, and what the dogs were possibly thinking at stategic moments in the story. Since this is a book about Gracie's entire life, it naturally includes the end of her shining light. Be prepared to cry. This is a book that will last in my mind for a long time!

Summary: It Will Touch Your Heart
Comment: What a great story! Gracie was a deaf great dane that nobody wanted, except Dan Dye. He wanted the black sheep of the litter, the one little dog sitting by herself on the other end of the room. Nobody saw any good in this dog, and felt she was more of a burden than anything because she was deaf, but Dan Dye loved her and made her a part of his life. In turn, she changed his entire life. She caused he and his best friend's dream to come true. The stories are funny and touching from beginning to finish. Gracie truly was a big sweetheart. Gracie was portrayed vividly in this book - as she was in real life...as a dog with real smarts, a sweet and loving heart, a playful spirit, and truly man's best friend. It was a reminder to me that our dogs have thoughts and feelings and they need us too.
I laughed my head off at times, I was in awe at times, and I cried my eyes out at the end, but I am so glad I read this book. It really is a very happy dog story. It made me want to spend more time with my two wonderful and lovely dogs; to take them on more walks, to play with them more and not leave them to entertain themselves. All in all, it will bring you closer to your pets. Great book!
