Title: Porsche 911: Buyer's Guide by Randy Leffingwell, Motorbooks International ISBN: 0-7603-0947-7 Publisher: MBI Publishing Pub. Date: April, 2002 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $24.95 |

Summary: Good, but could have been better
Comment: good features: high quality photos, lots of detail
bad features: very repetitious in the year-by-year descriptions (especially when many of the qualities remained the same for quite some time!). also, over-emphasizes the negatives, instead of discussing the benefits the later models offered--almost scared me away from 911s entirely. i would have preferred a more balanced discussion.
also, I wish he had summed things up to help me decide which model year was best for me, like an expanded version of the table of contents somewhere in the back with bullet point descriptions of major changes. in general, the presentation could have been better and the same info presented in a shorter, more user-friendly format.
Overall, though, a useful book with lots of info.

Summary: Great BOOK!!! hOOt!!!!!
Comment: I thought this book was great. This book tells you everything you need to know about Porsche's 911 series. If you read this book I bet you will learn more than reading Car magagines. The book will tell you what kind of Porsche is best for you, and it gives a thorough review of each module.
I recommend this book to people that know what a car is.
Rating: 5
Summary: An absolute must!!
Comment: Get off the web sites and get yourself a copy of this book if you are considering buying a 911. It two hours you will learn more than if you read 25 magazines. There is a year-by-year review of each model year. It points out the pros and cons, what to look for, what is should cost. This puppy is jam packed with helpful color photos (e.g. where rust spots might develop), but the spec charts are what really help. Check it out and you will end up in the right 911 for you.
