It is a great book for a beginner because it is very explicit and includes excellent illustrations. If you are familiar with a certain application, you can easily skip over sections and get to what you want to learn about. It also has sections that show how to the information from one application in another. It will quickly get you up to speed in using these applications. It would definetly be a good tool to use to gain computer skills for those just being introduced to Microsoft Office applications
