Comment: What if ...
What if the Russian never sold Alaska to the United States. What if Alaska gained its independence, and became a monarchy. What if the royal family is nuts, in an odd eccentric down-to-earth kind of way, and the king wants his heir to wed a brash, outspoken woman. What if she agrees.
King Alexander only wants what in his opinion is best for his son, and he has decided that Christina Krabbe, recently unemployed cruise chef, is it. Prince David could care less, and Christina doesn't quite know just what she has agreed to.
Until the king's in-laws enter the fray, and they have to work together to save the country, falling in love in the process.
What if ...
The Royal Treatment, MaryJanice Davidson's unique twist on rewriting history has all of the trademark humor and odd characters that readers are coming to love from this quirky author. Taking nothing serious, she creates a royal family the exact opposite of the 'serious, refined, never a hair out of place' aristocracy of today.
If sexy and playful, yet serious heroes & naughty, outspoken, and take charge heroines are your thing, then Ms Davidson deserves a treasured spot you're your auto buy list. With her oddball contemporaries, unpredictable paranormals, and sensual romantica novels, she offers a wide variety of fun and enjoyable romances, which totally breaks the 'bodice ripper' mold.

Summary: Another Fun Book By Ms. Davidson!
Comment: Ms. Davidson is fast becoming a very entertaining author in the romantic comedy genre. Although this has not been my favorite by this author I was still entertained.
In the latest offering of Ms. Davidson she takes a "might have been" approach and turns Alaska into it's own country with its own monarchy. Christina is a down on her luck American that happens to run into the King of Alaska and manages to amuse him enough that he offers her a place to stay with the hope that she will appeal to his son David the heir apparent. The man needs to get married! What follows is a fun look at the American take on royalty and the developing relationship between two people that are total opposites!
There are some moments that are not too terribly funny and the joke fell flat or perhaps Christina was being too obnoxious and to irrelevant for the situation (remember we are talking about a royal family here) and would detract from the story. Thankfully these were few and far between.
For a laugh out loud read that will entertain you for a day you can't beat Ms. Davidson.

Comment: This is the best book I have read in a long time. Born and raised in Alaska, I love the twist that Alaska is it own country, the author makes it work well. The character Christina is a riot! Love her take no s+++ attitude!
