Summary: An exercise in using big, useless words and reader confusion
Comment: Having been assigned to read this book for a graduate-school mass communications course, I expected a book rife with information and depth of research.

However, the author decided to hide all this information behind the use unncessary five-dollar words and buried the research even deeper with the interminable length of her prose to establish even the simplest of statements.

In other words, THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THE SNOBBIEST PIECES OF LITERATURE I HAVE EVER HAD THE UNFORTUNATE LUCK OF BEING FORCED TO READ!

This author must love using a thesaurus or is one herself, because her writing style is full of higher-level words where the simpler ones would suffice (and would certainly help to keep the book interesting).

Maybe the author has a special deal with institutions of learning, where assigning this book constitutes the thinning of ranks in over-enrolled journalism departments.

This author is definitely in love with the sound of her voice and seeing her words on paper... I JUST WISH SHE COULD KEEP THIS LOVE TO HERSELF AND INSTEAD WRITE IN A WAY THAT CONNECTS WITH PEOPLE OTHER THAN HERSELF!

This book is terrible. Avoid it at all costs!!!!

P.S. If you are college professor and are reading this, please do us students a favor and shoot us instead of assigning this book, because that would be a lot less cruel.
