Summary: ST-Voyager: The Nanotech War
Comment: SDtar Trek-Voyager: The Nanotech War written by Steven Piziks is a book set in the Voyager series prior to the homecoming. Upon the exploration of the Delta Quadrant the Voyager and her crew have met many strange and wonderful aliens. Some who wanted to capture the Voyager for the technology others just wanted the crew's help in disputes.

Well, Steven Piziks has come up with a new alien culture, the aliens called the Chiar. The Chiar are an advanced people who have made wonderful and great strides with nanotechnology. But, as the Chiar were expanding their culture inward and not outward, they have used nanites to advance their technological achievements, thus every where the Chiar had nanites, they were crawling with artificial intellegence. The nanites were the lifeblood of the Chiar homeworld which had layer upon layer of them, the nanites were inseparable from the Chiar.

Now, enters Voyager and her crew, caught up in a civil conflict of the Chiar who think they can harness the awesome power of the Borg... but something goes wrong and now the Voyager and her crew are in a deep peril of their own. It's interesting to see how this gets resolved.

The action-adventures flows in this well-written narrative making for a fast read. The charactizations are believable and the dialog is true . As the Voyager strugles to make it home from the Delta Quadrant, where no human has ever gone before, this is one of the strangest aliens yet, as Voyager and crew work their way through the layered nanotechnology.

As I mentioned the characters are believable and they get fleshed out... especially the relationship between B'Elana Torres and Tom Paris when Tom gets kidnapped by the Chiar. Also, the relationship between Chakotay/Seven of Nine gets fleshed out a bit further in this book.

This book has captured the characters with a flowing dialog and an adventure that was interesting. All in all, this is a very good addition to the Voyager series, you will not be disappointed and it money well spent for an evening. Those wanting to read about Captain Janeway will have to wait... this book's focus is on the other characters of the Voyager's crew making for a fascinating read.

Summary: Pretty good Voyager book
Comment: This book was a good book. But it wasn't without its weaknesses.
First, I must say that I was glad to finally get another Voyager book! Despite being 'hated' by many Star Trek fans, Voyager still has a big fan base.
Anyway, one minor problem with this book was that it followed the TV series' final episode. Therefore, this book couldn't allow for any more attempts at getting Voyager home (since we know the outcome).
But, the story itself was very interesting. It had a couple of good plot twists throughout. I do think 7 of 9 is used a little too much. Plus, Harry Kim fans will be disappointed to know that he has very limited dialogue in this book. It does refer to the future relationship of Chakotay and Seven.
Good book for Voyager fans. For casual Voyager fans, you may want to read other Trek books first.

Summary: One of the best I've read
Comment: This is one of the best Voyager books out there. It's exciting and has a lot of character insight. Finally, we get a book set after Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres get married. The book goes in depth about their thoughts and feelings about each other. It also gives background information that answers a lot of questions. Like where did the relationship between Chakotay and Seven of Nine come from. I would recommend this book to any Voyager fan.
