Rating: 2
Summary: Not A Worthy Book For This Series.
Comment: This book is one of the weakest in the "Complete Guide" series. This series usually offers good track by track analysis but this particular volume does not. It tries to offer up a lot of band history but you can get that information elsewhere. This is one group which could have benefitted from a discography and track analysis but this book doesn't quite cut it.
Rating: 3
Summary: Everything but music of the Doors
Comment: This book is about almost anything except a musical review of the doors discography. A very good reading for someone who wants to learn about the history of this controversial rock group, the is-jim-morrison-still-alive myth and lots of info about tours and scandals. Everything in a few hours of amusing reading. The weak point is that the book does not include a song x song analysis of the group's discography (as in other books of the series) and it almost ignores the musical side of the thing.
