Summary: Good Book for Toddlers!
Comment: I found this book to be a great book to read with my 26 month old. Its rhyming swing and its length make it a great book for that age. Also, the repeating of the phrase "No No Jo" allows my daughter to join in and is a good way for her to start reading.
I have to chuckle when I read the reviews about this book having a negative attitude towards animals and it showing bad behavior for toddlers. Let's get a grip on reality Folks! This is a children's book about a mischevious cat. The person who wrote about the negative attitude towards animals obviously has never had children and a kitten in the house at the same time. And let's go to the ending where they whisper "Good Night Jo" as the kitten is asleep on the couch. Oh man, major negative attitude in that one and what a showing of ill manners...NOT!
It's a great children's book and I recommend it completely.

Summary: Your Child May Like It, But You May Not
Comment: Toddlers are going to learn the power of the word "No" with or without this book, so that should be of no concern to any parent. And the fact that young children love saying "No" makes this story's refrain of "No, no, Jo!" that much more appealing. The rest of the text, though, is insipid. The rhyme scheme is forced and not all that clever. And the artwork is downright ugly compared to some of the fun and attractive illustration work in children's books. In the end, though, all your child may care about is that he enjoys the book, which he probably will.

Summary: My kids love this book
Comment: My oldest daughter's first sentence was "No no, Jo!" I've already ordered a new copy of this to give to her when she's older since our first copy was worn out. I bought a copy for my brother-in-law's new baby but my two-year-old commandeered it so she could have a copy upstairs and one down. We love this book.
