Comment: The book presents Ethiopia as a happy, safe and wonderful place where children can travel freely to see animals, with no more risk than a blister (which a Band-Aid will cure). Addis Ababa is presented as a place "of skyscrapers, palaces, big churches and restaurants . . . . She could smell flowers." (p. 11). Ethiopia is in fact one of Earth's terrible places. Ethiopians die early from starvation, AIDS and butchery from one another and their neighbors. Traveling in Ethiopa is very dangerous and the U.S. State Department warns about it. One Of A Kind is an example of the politically correct/multicultural lies that are too often hidden in seemingly innocuous school and other books fory young people.
