Summary: How Bright You Are
Comment: Even as an infant, my 6-month-old loves the illustrations and bright colors in this book. With verse as simple as "red fox" and "gold lion," this board book accomplishes the feat of teaching not just colors but animal names to children even younger than toddlers. Plus, the book is durable enough to "eat" (as my daughter can attest to). Thank you, Bob Staake, for your innovative illustrations. Greta and I look forward to many more of your upcoming books!

Comment: A vivid and educational board book for toddlers. Each page introduces a member of the animal kingdom in a different color: a red fox, a brown bear, a yellow fish, and so on. Staake's artwork will teach children about shapes; circles, curved lines and straight lines permeate each page. The colors come alive in a panorama of shades, each complementary to one another. Couple this with Staake's other "shape" books on ABCs, opposites, and 123s in the "board book box" at your library.
