Summary: A great book
Comment: This is a book review on I've lived a Thousand Years by Livia Bitton Jackson. I've Lived a Thousand years is a great book. I personally really liked it. The story's about a character named Eli. Eli gets sent to Auschwitz and then is sent to Plazow. She thought she was going to a Labor Camp. Every day is a threat that you could go to where the Jews most dread. The Gas Chamber! Eli has doubt that she will survive. This is all taking place in the 1940's in Germany during the Holocaust. My opinion of the book is that it's boring at the very beginning but once you get to the 5th chapter it's like you never want to stop reading. I liked it was because its always exciting. Also because at the end of the chapter it leaves you wondering what's going to happen in the next chapter. My two favorite part are when they see the sign that says Auschwitz, not that it's funny, it's that it is very well written. The whole book is filled with good vocabulary and lots of cool words. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes war books. Even if you didn't like the other ones I bet you'll like this book. It is very well written, and it is not very long. Even though this book has won no awards I think it deserves all the awards and 5 stars. My favorite reason I like it is because its really fast reading.

Summary: review on I have live a thousand years
Comment: I Have Live a Thousand Years: Growing Up in the Holocaust is by Liva Bitton-Jackson. It is a biography about Elli L Friedmann when she was thirteen years old. It was during the Holocaust when the Nazis took over. She and her family are put in concentration camp and they are there for almost a year. The only survivors in her family were her mother, brother, and herself. They were all badly injured in the concentration camp but they all kept on believing and survived all the cruelty and hardships. They didn't do anything to deserve all this cruelty. Everything got taken away she had to leave everyone behind including her friends and all of her prized possessions like, her book of poems and her brand new bike that she got on her birthday.
I thought Elli was very brave and no matter what she always thought of the best just like her mother and the message of her story was "never to give up". That really helped her survive all the concentration camps and she didn't just think about her self, but always thought of other. Like when her mom was paralyzed she helped mother so she wouldn't be put in the gas chamber and when they got separated she risked her life to find her mom and help her get better.
I think the author was trying to make you feel like you were part of the Holocaust during the book and it also told you how it felt to be in concentration camps. How the prisoners were treated and how they felt. You also understand what it is like to be Elli, mother, and brother and what they went through and she did a very good job in making you feel like you were part of the book. It kind of makes you appreciate life and what you have now.
I thought this was a very inspiring book and it was a page-turner for me. It surprised me that most people thought positively even in the worst case. I learned so much from this book about what the concentration camps were. Most books on this topic don't really tell you about and they only tell about themselves and how they felt. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the Holocaust and read a great book.

Summary: Fantastic
Comment: I began reading this book at the begening of eigth grade, when I was 13 years old. I have always had an obsession with World War 2 and the Holocaust. I am amazed and horrified by the acts of the Nazis. How anybody could be so cruel is shocking. Anyway, back to the book. I fell in love with this book, and the people, very soon into the book. I can't put the way I feel about it in words. It is a GREAT book! Read it!
