Summary: Not the best, but another great book of the Alice series!
Comment: When you read this book, you will feel like you're in the life of 12 year old Alice. A great book for pre-teens! I can relate to Alice when I read this book. It has all of her embarrasing moments and all of her 'agonies' in 6th grade. Here are some things that will happen in the book: opening the door on a boy in a dressing room (in his underpants!), riding a train to see her aunt, hitting puberty, and many more things I can't tell you because you have to read this book! A must for the Alice series! Great job, Mrs. Naylor!

Summary: The Alice series is THE BEST!
Comment: This book was really good! I enjoy EVERY Alice book! I've read everyone so far, except of course the one that is going to be coming out soon. I recomend this book especially for teen girls! However, compared to the other books, this one was the TINIEST bit less interesting (but its still filled with REALLY funny problems and the great characters). The series is great though, so you should ead EVERY book in it!

Summary: Sixth Grade -- Oh no!
Comment: I am not sure why, but this is one of my least favorites of the Alice McKinley books. It could be because Alice and the other characters do not seem quite as real in this book as they do in the later installments. Or it could be because I myself never went to school until the end of 8th grade, thus I cannot relate to the setting of 6th grade.
However...this is still a good book. It has funny moments, sweet moments, etc. THE AGONY OF ALICE follows Alice McKinley through her 6th grade year at a new school in a new town. Called "Al" by her father and brother, the only close family she has got besides her more than somewhat old-fashioned Aunt Sally, Alice goes through a year with its ups and downs just like any other.
This is a great jumping off point for the series, which has yet to disappoint me. Recommended to all so that you can read the rest of the series without missing anything. Enjoy!
