Summary: This is an excellent book!
Comment: I read and reviewed the book The Cage by Ruth M. Sender. It is about a young girl who spent ger childhood hiding and living in Nazi slave labor camps. This book tells how she suffered and srtuggled to stay alive during the Holocaust. It tells you what it was like for adults and children during this horrible period of time. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was very descriptive and realistic. I always felt like I was in the story instead of just reading it. I always had trouble just reading a few pages because it was so interesting. This book is the kind you never want to put down. Its a real page turner. I gave this book five stars and if you read it you will too. You will like this book if you like books about the Holocaust. A book similar to this is the book Cild of the holocaust by Jack Kuper. This boy also hid from the Nazis during the Holocaust. So read this book. I promise you will enjoy it!

Summary: The Cage
Comment: When I first saw a copy of The Cage I became very interested by the picture on the cover. I then went to my teacher and said that I had chose to read this book, The Cage. I became very surprised when he told me that he had read it. It shocked me because this just did not look like a really popular novel. As I began to read the book, I was somewhat confused. The story started out as very happy, not what one would expect from a book about the Holocaust. After about a chapter or so, I became more intrigued by a sudden switch to years back from when the story had originally started. The more I read on I found it hard to stay interested because it always seemed to take a while before the book had something exciting happen. When I had finished the book, I honestly felt that I had enjoyed it. Overall, the book was not bad, it just lacked a few things such as excitement and suspense to help build the overall plot. I think that the switch from present to past and back to the present helped make up for some of the creativity that would have helped give the novel more of it's own individuality.

Summary: A great book for everybody
Comment: The Cage
By Ruth Minsky Sender
The Cage was a great story about a girl that lived in a ghetto in Germany for a few years. When the war had just begun, the main character, Riva, was best friends with the next door neighbors. These neighbors turned them in to the Germans because they were Jews. Riva's mother was taken away from her children. The children hid in their house hoping to see their mother again. After a few years of the children hiding in the ghetto, they turned themselves in and were sent to Aushwitz. In Aushwitz, Riva and her brothers were split up. Riva kept hoping to see her brothers and mother again. The guards at the camp were very brutal and unforgiving even for just stealing potato peels from a garbage can. I think anybody who reads this book will enjoy the story.
