Summary: very helpful in identifying ADD behaviors
Comment: This book is based on the medical model for ADD; a disorder that is helped by medication and other treatments. Many critizing this book do so because they prefer to believe ADD is just a difference in being, not a disorder. Scientific research is proving them wrong. This was the first book I read after learning I had ADD, seven years ago. Page after page was a revelation. I learned how having undiagnosed ADD affected so many parts of my life. It gave me hope that, with proper treatment, I could learn to function much better. I liked the personal tone of the book and the numerous examples.

Summary: Most Helpful Book on ADD I have ever read....!!!
Comment: This book has really changed my life in so many ways. Having ADD as an adult is one thing....but being able to do something about it in a positive way is yet another challenge. This book enabled me to make some really fundamental changes in the way I operate to take advantage of the skills I have. It really helps in enabling you to rationalize your "lazy/crazy" behaviours by giving you a pseudo-scientific explanation for why you do the things you do. It does this by relating your actions to they way the brain works in an ADD vs. non-ADD person. Also, it relates brain functionality with day-to-day examples such as filing cabinets, etc... Best part of the book is that it doesn't give you specific answers, since there is a different solution for every individual. Rather, it arms you with the fundamental facts/issues/consequences so you can formulate something that works best for you. As a well-educated adult in a challenging profession, this book has helped me cope with my limitations due to ADD very effectively. I can't thank the authors enough...and that is why I am writing this review so that others may benefit.

Summary: Wow what a new leash on life!!!
Comment: Oh my God what a book. I was shocked to learn that I have many abilites and not disabilites. I now have a positive outlook on ADD. This book has changed my life and I came back to Amazon to order 4 more for some of my freinds that struggle with ADD. I now can have my sons teachers read this and they will finnally understand my sons. I am so moved by this book and if you have ADD or know someone who does you should order this book today. I have read other ADD books but this is HANDS DOWN THE BEST EVER!!!
